Saskatchewan Polytechnic (Sask Polytech) researchers partnered with members of the Moose Jaw
Region Poverty Reduction Partnership to garner a better understanding of the lived experiences of individuals living in poverty in the city of Moose Jaw, SK.
Recommendations and Way Forward
Newcomer and refugee mothers, who often experience separation from extended family, socioeconomic hardships and social disconnection in a new country, are at risk of experiencing reduced physical, mental and emotional wellbeing.
Survey results from Moose Jaw region
The primary objectives of this survey were to: Identify newcomers’ experiences of discrimination in their city or town, gauge the effects of discrimination on newcomers and, identify ways in which communities can support newcomers who experience discrimination.
