Immigrant Settlement and Community-Newcomer Integration in South-Central Saskatchewan

2022 Data-Gathering Study

In the ongoing quest to support community-newcomer integration in our region, Prairie Skies contracted a research team at the University of Regina to conduct a data-gathering Research Project. A comprehensive report was produced in March 2022.

Since then, Prairie Skies’ Secretariat, with the support of the Research Working Group, Research Advisory Subcommittee, and the U of R Research Team, reviewed the study through a community lens, and planned for effective Knowledge Translation, including the development of topical research briefs.

The study’s aim mirrored that of our earlier Literature Review:

  • To reveal the current dynamics of newcomer integration in our region.
  • To render evidence for Prairie Skies’ strategic direction and focuses.
  • To support awareness of topics requiring further investigation.

Immigrant Settlement and Community-Newcomer Integration in South-Central Saskatchewan

2020 literature review

Prairie Skies conducted a literature review in 2020 to identify what is known about the current state of immigrant settlement and community-newcomer integration —and community capacity in this regard—in the South Central region of Saskatchewan.

This report determines the need for further research on these topics, and renders preliminary evidence for the strategic direction of Prairie Skies Integration Network.
